Animals Nature

This goofy frog acted slightly differently to the norm when presented with a cricket snack, reaching and chomping rather than using its elastic tongue.

Cody Conway, 33, looks after frogs such as the dumpy tree frog, Topaz in the enclosures based in Groves, Texas.

The clip shows the beautiful blue Topaz minding his own business when he is presented with a snack.

The cricket is dangled in front of Topaz but instead of using the tongue to pinch the cricket, Topaz reaches up and covers the cricket and tweezers with his entire mouth.

Cody said: “They are a plump goofy species of frog that can be super excitable over food.

“This is a semi-typical feeding behaviour with a little more exaggeration to this particular feeding.”
