A photographer has captured a bizarre sea snail egg shaped like a gummy neck pillow.
Jewellery maker Alla Lear was scanning a beach in her native Sydney, Australia, looking for sea glass when she spotted the strange object.
Alla picked up the jelly-like lump from the shore and filmed it as it reflected the light of the sun.
According to Alla, the mysterious object was an egg belonging to a moon snail, a family of predatory sea molluscs.
Alla said: “These jellies are actually masses of moon snail eggs and they contain hundreds of thousands of them.
“Sometimes they get washed up whole and can be picked up from the beach.
“They have this unique round shape with a gap, which makes them look like neck pillows.”
