A sushi chef has elevated his dishes by making them edible works of art, depicting everything from Nike trainers to celebrities Dwayne Johnson and Aquaman.
Working out of Milan, Italy, talented chef Yujia Hu, 31, has transformed his fishy morsels into works of art.
Using traditional ingredients such as salmon, seaweed and rice, Yujia creates 3D portraits of everything from stylish Hawaiian Shirts and Flamingos to celebrities such as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and pop culture icons such as Aquaman.
Though some pieces can take anywhere between 15 minutes to two hours to create, the end product is still a tasty treat.
Yujia said: “At first I was thinking of a way to promote my restaurant. I started to create portraits of NBA players in sushi form.
“With practice my skills improved and I created more and more difficult things.
“I relax a lot during the creation process because while I work my mind is free to travel, the thoughts fade without blocks and when I finish the satisfaction of what I have created comes.
“When I finish a piece, I feel a lot of satisfaction because I managed to take something from my head and make it a real thing.
“The only thing I regret is eating a work created with so much hard work.”
