Monsoon winds made a woman’s flimsy umbrella look pretty redundant as she was battered.

As Parker Tibbetts took cover from the torrential downpour in Washington DC on August 20, a woman carrying a pink umbrella tried to battle bravely against the winds.

Against the powerful bluster, the umbrella was no match, being turned inside out as the woman struggled to hold on.

Parker said: “I felt really sorry for this poor woman.

“The umbrella was no help at all.”
