Quick thinking firefighters set up ladders so a pair of raccoons could rescue themselves from a fire.
As Paul Bierwagen passed a tiny warehouse in South Bend, Indiana, on August 4, he saw a bunch of smoke rising from the top.
When he approached, he noticed emergency services were propping up two ladders, one against the edge of the building with the other raising it higher off the ground.
Suddenly, a pair of trash pandas can be seen using the rungs to make their escape as onlookers cheer the animals when they reach safety.
Paul said: “I’m not sure what actually caused the fire, but it was a tire warehouse.
“I was walking up as they were putting the ladders up and realised they were actually trying to save the raccoons.
“Then, they walked down the ladder and made it out alive.”
